27/03/2021 - Church Warden's Update

Dear members of Holy Trinity Church,

Having been silent on the Church email front for a couple of months, I am so pleased to be in touch again with news of the Church re-opening in April.

I am delighted that there will be an outdoor service of Holy Communion at 11 am on Easter Day at Wonston, and you are all warmly invited to attend!

The service is being taken by Rev Neil Britton, to whom we are very grateful.

We have been lent the sound system by Wonston Parish Council which will mean that everyone should be able to hear the service, and Ruth Guy has kindly offered to play for us so that we can sing!

Parking will be in the Church field by permission of James Gray.

Do make sure that you wear warm coats and suitable footwear as we will be standing on the grass but please do bring picnic chairs if you would like to sit down during the service.

Government rules require us to maintain social distancing of 2m between family groups. I know that the desire to socialise and chat to others will be difficult to resist, but please do your bit to keep this a Covid-safe occasion.

If the weather is not suitable we shall hold the service in the church. This will obviously reduce the numbers of people we can accommodate, and I do hope you will understand the dilemma we will face of needing to limit attendance at this point. I promise we will do our best in this situation.

The next two Sundays in April will be held in the church at 11am, on the 11th Matins, and on the 18th a family service. It will be lovely to be together again, but we will continue to observe the necessary hygiene and safety measures.

Easter Lilies: If you would like to make a donation for Easter lilies to remember a loved one who has died, please do get in touch with either Louise Thackray (louisethackray@hotmail.co.uk) or me, to arrange a donation and delivery of a lily to your home. This year, because of the open air service, and the church being closed, we thought we would deliver the lily to you at home so that you could remember them as it blooms.

Annual Parochial Church meeting and Electoral Roll:

This year’s APCM will be held on Sunday 25th April. This will held via a zoom meeting and I will confirm the time.

If you would like your name to be added to the electoral roll for Wonston Parish and you are not already on it, there will be forms at the Church on Easter day, or let me know and I will deliver one to you. These need to be returned by 10th April please.

I hope I haven’t missed any important details, but do get in touch if you would like to know more,

With my best wishes,

Sarah
